The New Cooking Bag (NCB) is used to cook food without requiring continuous heat.

After the water and food in the pot have boiled, the pot is placed in the NCB and tied closed. 

Thanks to the insulating properties of the kapok filling, the temperature in the pot remains high and the food cooks through.
